Train Parking

ROCKWOOD DEPOT PARKING – Vehicle parking is available at the Rockwood Depot but is limited.  Parking pass prices are:

  • $8 for a car, truck or motorcycle
  • $10 for RV (discuss size of RV with agent, as space is very limited).

Buy the pass online when reserving your tickets, or when speaking with an agent over the phone. Parking passes CANNOT be purchased at the Rockwood Parking Lot. There is no overnight camping allowed in the lot.

From downtown Durango heading north on Hwy 550 – Click Here for Directions to the Rockwood Station. Address: Hogan Circle, Durango, CO.

  1. From Main Avenue or Camino del Rio (Hwy 550) in downtown Durango, head north on Hwy 550 N / Main Ave. for about 17 miles.
  2. Turn Right (east) onto County Road 200.
  3. There is a small sign for Rockwood Station on the right (east side) at the County Road 200 turn off.
  4. If you pass the Glacier Golf Resort while heading north, you have gone too far.  Turn around!  CR 200 is .8 miles south of the Glacier Golf Resort entrance.
  5. Parking at Rockwood is on gravel lots on either side of the tracks.
  6. Allow 30 to 45 minutes to get to Rockwood from downtown Durango.

Heading south on Hwy 550 from Silverton or Purgatory Resort – Click Here for Directions to the Rockwood Station. Address: Hogan Circle, Durango, CO.

  1. Follow US 550 South. Go about 32.5 miles south of Silverton (or 11.7 miles south of Purgatory Resort).
  2. Just past the Glacier Club Golf Resort (on east side of highway) you will make first left turn onto County Road 200.
  3. Follow to the end where you will be instructed to park on gravel lots on either side of the train tracks.

 

DURANGO PARKING – Vehicle parking is available in Durango at the D&SNGRR designated lot, a short five-minute walk from the Depot. Parking pass prices are:

  • $8 for a car, truck or motorcycle
  • $10 for RV, bus, trailer or any vehicle requiring more than one standard parking space

Buy the pass online when reserving your tickets, or when speaking with an agent over the phone. You can also purchase your parking pass on the day of your ride at the lot with cash only. You will need a daily parking pass for each day your vehicle is parked in the lot (i.e. layover train customers). There is no overnight camping allowed in the lot.

There is an ‘unloading zone’ on Main Avenue in front of the Train Depot. Those with a handicapped parking permit placard or plate may park at any metered parking space for no charge.

The Durango Train Parking Lot is located at 209 W College Drive, directly west of the McDonald’s. The Durango Train Depot is located at 479 Main Avenue.

SILVERTON PARKING – If you’re taking the train one-way from Silverton to Durango, park in Silverton at any available space in town. Be careful not to block businesses or driveways. The Silverton Depot is located at the corner of 10th and Cement Streets.
